JACO ROYALS BASEBALL PROGRAM

The Jaco Royals Baseball Program is a Christ-centered youth sports ministry based out of Horizon Church. The program has roughly 65 children ages 5-16 and about 15 coaches and volunteers.

​

The idea for the program originated with Randy, our brother in Christ, who grew up locally and hoped someday to provide opportunities to children that he did not have. Randy, Sara and Ron comprise the leadership team for the Royals.

​

Youth sports allow us to build strong, trusting relationships with players, coaches and their families. Within these relationships, we introduce the transforming power of the Gospel. We hold Bible lessons and teach Christ-like character at practices and games. Through Jesus and his teachings, players learn discipline, respect, teamwork, and love for the Lord with all their heart and soul.

The relationships that begin on the field extend deep into the heart of marginalized communities around Jaco. Other ministries and activities have formed as a result.​
