RON

Swift Sunrise Director, ESL Teacher, Mentor, Leader, Servant, Baseball Coach, Administrator

Ron loves the Church and has a heart for serving others. He practiced law for twenty years before being ordained in 2022 and sent into missions with Julie and Zoe. Ron loves studying the Bible and discussing it with people of all ages. He values close relationships grounded in the truth of God's Word.

Ron also has a heart for youth sports. He played and coached football, baseball, and basketball over the years and even began a church softball league one time. Ron never imagined God would call him to the mission field in a way that involves sports!


For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

JULIE

Swift Sunrise Co-Director, Lead ESL Teacher, Christian Mentor, Encourager, Motivator

Julie is a life-long servant and educator. She is a mentor to other women and has worn many hats in Christian ministry.


Julie is a dedicated wife, mother and friend. She loves competition and enjoys tennis, swimming, and games of all kinds. Julie taught public school for nine years and home schooled for more than twenty. She helps other families transition to home school. She also tutors students, leads AWANA, attends Bible studies, and partners with others in ministry.


I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5-6)

SARA

ESL Administrator, Devotion Leader, Planner, Mobilizer, Name Taker, Call Maker, Translator, Love In Action!

Sara is devoted to her husband Dave and their boys, Colby, Cameron and Carter. Their three dogs keep her busy and entertained. She and Dave sold their restaurant in North Carolina and moved to Costa Rica over twenty years ago to begin a charter boat business.  Sara is a business administrator and manages charter boats and rental properties.

Sara is 100% passionate about serving the Lord by serving others. She is the spirit, desire and will behind Randy’s vision for the baseball program. Sara has a huge heart for the needy families in our area. She leaps into action whenever someone is in need.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

RANDY

DIEGO

ESL Teacher, Devotion Leader, Christian Mentor, Tee Ball Coach, Translator

Diego is first and foremost a disciple of Jesus Christ. He is called to serve the Lord in the local church and to teach the Gospel and other truths from God’s Word. Diego leads the Royals tee ball program (ages 5-8). He teaches ESL with Sunrise English and attends every activity that takes place in Cristo Rey and Las Parcelas. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

After serving in the U.S. Navy as a wet crewman, Diego worked as an aircraft power plant mechanic, a restaurant general manager, a realtor, and a property maintenance director. He has preached the Word on the streets of Nicaragua and Costa Rica. He has a passion for studying the Bible and discussing it with others. He regularly shares a devotion with the homeless at the weekly feeding in Jaco’s Central Park.

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

ELIESER

Baseball Coach, Mentor, Genios Parque Attendant, Eyes and Ears, Hands and Feet

Elieser lives in Cristo Rey and is the attendant at Genios Parque where we hold our children's day camps and other events. He is a Christian and a very kind man who helps our ministry by coordinating events. He's always on hand to serve however possible. Elieser has walked the community with us recruiting new baseball players and delivering Bibles and invitations to events. He is well-known and provides regular updates on situations.

Elieser is a member of the Jaco Royals baseball coaching staff. He attends practices faithfully despite having to load into taxis with several players. Elieser is good with the kids and a humble servant.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

ZOE BELLA

Kid, Assistant ESL Teacher, Content Creator, Volleyball Player, Director of Energy and Fun!

Zoe Bella ("life beautiful") has given her life to Christ and is passionate about loving and serving others. She is growing in Christ and dedicated to her family and friends. She enjoys reading, writing, swimming, and gaming, but volleyball is her favorite!

Zoe misses her family and friends in Montana, as well as her cat "Cupcake." She loves Costa Rica and has adapted well. She has made many wonderful lifelong friends here.


But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:4-5)
